You are here : Homenewsfactory order vs stock leasing deals
This is really a no-brainer and boils down to what matters to you more: The monthly lease cost of the car or whether you want the exact car of your dreams.
Let me explain. Manufacturers will often ring-fence some stock vehicles and apply aggressive discounts in order to get that stock moved. We have recently seen a deal on Volkswagen Golfs for less than £175 per month. That is a great lease deal indeed. If you wanted to factory order the same vehicle, the discounts that are applied to the stock deal would not be available; the undicounted rental would be over £285 per month.
It is a real dilema. Do you take a stock vehicle and accept that you can’t have that panoramic roof that you wanted or the sound system upgrade? It really depends on what matters to you most.
The other difficulty for employees that are eligible for a company car is that they are often subjected to the low rentals available online. That might not matter as a well set up company car scheme should just let the employee know what the company car tax is and not necessarily let them know what the rental is. However, there are still many schemes out there where an emplyee will have a monthly allowance and they will have to pick from a pre-defined population of cars within their budget. That is a bit of a problem because if they have a budget of (say) £200 they would be able to afford the Golf above if they were allowed to source it from outside of the scheme.
Most of the rentals displayed on CarLease247 are for factory ordered vehicles. However, if you do want a stock vehicle then these are clearly labelled. If you want to enjoy the best of both worlds, pick the exact car that you want and we will try and find a car that matches or closely matches your specification and we’ll get a great rate on it too.
This is why our lease comparison service can be of great value to you. If you have identified which vehicle you really want we can go to dealers and funders and compare their lease deals to get you the best deal in terms of cost and time to deliver.
So the question of stock vs factory order is not so black and white after all.
